How it plays
Each Ingenious tile joins two hexagons with colored symbols. Place a tile into two empty board spaces, then score matching symbols that extend outward in straight lines from its halves. Your six score tracks record the colors separately; a strong red move cannot compensate automatically for neglected blue.
At the end, players compare their lowest color scores, rather than adding all colors into a total. Reaching eighteen in a color also grants another placement. This creates a tension between taking a large immediate score and keeping every color high enough to remain competitive.
Decisions you’ll make
Check your weakest track before taking an obvious high-scoring placement. It may be more useful to secure a scarce route for the color you are struggling to improve.
Consider what your tile leaves on the shared board. Extending a line earns you points, but can also offer another player a longer scoring opportunity.
Learning the game
Light: the placement loop is short, but demonstrate scoring directions, lowest-color victory and bonus placements.
