How it plays
A numbered card is offered to the table. On your turn, either pay a chip onto it to refuse it, or take the card and all the chips already there. If you take it, reveal the next card and decide again.
Cards add unwanted points, while leftover chips reduce your total. Consecutive cards form a chain that scores only its lowest number. A large card can therefore be almost harmless to someone extending a chain, but expensive to everyone else.
Decisions you’ll make
Let others pay to avoid a card you already want, or collect it before they change their minds. You are balancing the chips it might gain against the risk of spending your own supply.
Do not assume a missing number will appear later: nine cards are removed unseen during setup.
Learning the game
Light: take or pay, then explain chain scoring and the unseen cards.
