How it plays
Your turns collect gem tokens, reserve a development card, or buy one. Purchased cards provide permanent gem bonuses, reducing what you must pay for later cards. Some cards also carry prestige points, and meeting a noble's requirements can bring another scoring reward.
The shared display makes your intended purchases visible to everyone. Reserving a card protects that particular option and can provide a gold token, but uses a turn that could have gathered gems or developed your bonuses. You need to judge when your purchasing power is ready to produce points.
Decisions you’ll make
Compare buying another inexpensive bonus with moving directly toward a point-scoring card you can afford.
Watch which card colors and nobles other players are approaching before committing several turns to one target.
