How it plays

Your hand of expedition cards pays for movement through jungle, water, and villages, or for new cards from the market. Purchased cards join your discard pile, so you must cycle your deck before drawing them.

Green, yellow, and blue landscape spaces require the right symbol and sufficient power from a single card. Other adventurers occupy spaces you cannot enter, making the route through the modular board important as well as the strength of your deck.

Decisions you’ll make

Spend a hand on travel now or invest it in cards for later turns. A stronger deck is of little use if the race finishes before you draw it again.

Scan the upcoming terrain before buying. Base camps let you remove cards at a cost, which can improve later hands, but reaching them may require leaving a direct route.

Learning the game

Moderate: teach terrain payment, the market, and deck cycling, then add the separate two-player movement requirement.
